DCT-Domain Based Fast Downscaling Transcoder for MPEG-4 Video

摘要

To display and process video by handled devices, which are usually in a low resolution and processing ability, videos must be transcoded into format with lower resolution and bit-rate. This paper propose a fast MPEG-4 video stream downscaling transcoding algorithm. The transcoder which uses this algorithm can downscale the resolution of videos and reduce the bit-rate as well, hence produce video stream favored by the handled device. The results of experiments show that this algorithm can previously reduce the complexity of computing and improve the efficiency. What's more, the algorithm can successfully control the reduction of video quality in a reasonable level.
