Characteristics of SO{sub}2, NO{sub}2, Soot and benzo(a)pyrene concentration variation on the eastern coast of the Baltic sea

The investigation of SO{sub}2, NO{sub}2,soot and benzo(a)pyrene (IBP) has been performed at the background station on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea since 1980. A significant decreasing trend has been observed for SO{sub}2 and NO{sub}2, while soot and IBP concentrations were changing insignificantly. The decreasing SO{sub}2 and NO{sub}2 high concentrations ( >10) have been determined in the air masses coming from the Western and Central Europe to Lithuania since 1990. The concentration of SO{sub}2 in a range of 0-5 μg·m{sup}(-3) and the concentration of NO{sub}2 in a range of 0-10μg·m{sup}(-3) are characteric of the background atmospheric air.
