The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) is responsible for more than 17,000 bridges, located on national and county roads and of which some are exposed to extreme climatic conditions. The replacement value of these bridges is estimated to be app. 6 billion EUR (48 billion NOK). Having this in mind, you shall be sure that there has been no discrepancy between our top level managers that our Organisation needs a powerful tool, providing assistance to all levels of Managers involved in bridge matters throughout the Organisation. De facto, provisions of necessary budgets have been made available for performing the tremendous amount of research work which has gone into ways of developing every task associated with bridge maintenance and management in our present BMS.
