According to the non-linear characteristic of vibration signals of rolling bearings, correlation dimension was introduced to describe the vibration signals and diagnosis the fault of rolling bearings. Based on the fractal theory, non-steady vibration signal analyzing method was studied and a more reliable correlation dimension algorithm with a low amount of calculation was brought about. Analyzing the relationship between correlation dimension and fault model of rolling bearings and the affecting factor in course of computing, the result showed that the size of correlation dimensions directly relate to fault existence.
