摘要

The bus slots amount limitation and the restricted length of bus expansion are the bottleneck while using PCI bus. Aiming at this problem, this paper discusses the next-generation connectivity technologies and introduces the design of the CompactPCI bus controller which is based on StarFabric technology. The CompactPCI controller is mixed functions designed, including the system function and the peripheral function, based on one StarGen's SG2010 chip and the system designers can expand the CompactPCI bus with the controllers conveniently. Since the StarFabric technology uses LVDS for its data transmission, the PCB layout for high-speed differential signaling is also concerned in this paper.
