Sense image compression system is expected high compressing rate, real time dealing and high fidelity. Considering the energy consumes to memory, data processing ability and cost, this article brings forward a hardware project of multi-DSP+FPGA. The coding and decoding computation will mainly be done in DSP, whose type is TMS320C6416. The arithmetic is based on Lapped Biorthogonal Transform (LBT). The article gives the flow of integer fast realization of LBT called binLBT and the improvement and predigestion of Zerotree coding. Some key technology during the migration of the compression arithmetic from PC to DSP is discussed in the article, including the data type transformation, the data overflow, the optimization of code and the parallel operation, etc. With a group of black and white image as samples, the article finally gives the results and conclusions of the test on the compression system at the ratio of 4:1 and 8:1.
