Pervaporation of Acetic Acid /Water Mixtures through Carbon Molecular Sieve-Filled PDMS Membranes

The pervaporation separation process of acetic acid/water has been introduced and studied. Two different types of membranes were prepared: dense polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membrane and carbon molecular sieve (CMS) filled PDMS membrane. The properties of the two types membranes were measured. The effects of temperature, feed concentration, CMS content on the performance of the membranes have been studied.
