Domestic vs Overseas Iron Ore Competitiveness and Raw Materials Supplying Strategies for China

Iron Ore is the main raw material for production of iron and steel. Therefore, a stable and economical iron ore supply is the precondition for a steady and sustained development of iron and steel industry. Since iron ore resources play a special role in the development of iron and steel industry, they all pay much attention to the selection of optimum principle of utilizing iron ore resources, based in which, they decide the distribution and development mode of their iron and steel industry. Through a comprehensive survey of principles of utilizing iron ore resources in major iron and steel producing countries in the world, the following two conclusions can be drawn.
