The number of the applications in 3D Network is increasing very fast, but few works have been done in this field. The traditional network is two dimensional and mainly deals with the connectivity of the component. On the other hand, most of the data structures and indexing algorithms are based on proximity. But in 3D network, the connectivity and proximity should be considered at the same time. So there exists a big gap between the data model of traditional network and the current data structures and indexing algorithms. In order to adapt to the 3D network, we define a new data model, discuss the spatial indexes and present a new spatial index that is based on proximity and connectivity, uses the object clipping and bounding methods.
