An Agent Architecture for Method and Tool Brokering

An agent system for software engineeringis composed from agents for engineering products, processes, quality, and objectives and goals. In order to get an effective infrastructure for software projects those problem agents have to be handled by appropriate methods each of which instrumented by efficient tools. As there are lots of tools and methods available on the internet the question arises how to obtain them. The problem agents and their interfaces can be specified by dedicated agents. Requirements for methods and tools are then specified with respect to quality goals and producivity objec-tives. Based on these requirements communicating and on user profiles brokers are defined which fetch the appropriate methods and tools from the internet making use of public search engines. The fetch process employs mature information storage and retrieval techniques.
