This paper describes development of a field information management system for precision farming. We design the client-server system to suitable flexible configuration. The client user interface bases on web browser and provides unitary GUI keeping reasonable guideline. The field information server is constructed with Java on UNIX platform and mounts GIS kernel for data management, database management system (DBMS) for management of data files via JDBC, and mechanism to juncture the PF application modules. For the GIS kernel and the DBMS, we chose GRASS GIS and PostgreSQL respectively. From these designing, we develop prototype system. In prototype system, we implement web-base interface and the server that can manage geo-referenced data by GIS kernel built into the server. At last, we test on real tractor and actuator in the field. We achieve driverless and precise farmworks.
