With an increased emphasis on production of high quality aggregate products, automated rapid aggregate gradation systems are becoming more desirable. A modular system architecture that provides the flexibility needed to easily integrate an automated grading system into a wide variety of plant applications is suggested. This paper also discusses a number of implementation issues such as economic considerations, adaptability of the grading device to various environments, potential sampling locations, sample size, matching automated gradation data to conventional sieve data, and particle shape parameters.
