Flow and mixing in a submerged circulative impingingstream reactor (SCISR) are investigated. The (macro) mixing time in SCISR is longer than that in stirred tank reactor (STR) because therein exist both perfect mixifng and two plug flow regions in the former. Analysis and experimental measuremdents show that the flow configuration mentioned above is reasonable. On the other hand, SCISR exhibits much better performance than STR in some practical cases, implying it promotes micro mixing effectively.
