Bioprocess Engineering Studies on Plant Cell Cultures for Production of Valuable Metabolites

摘要

Several examples of bioprocess engineering studies on plant cell cultures for production of high-value added plant-specific metabolites are demonstrated in this work.Suspension cells of Panax notoginseng were used for production of bioactive ginseng saponin and ginseng polysaccharide,Taxus chinensis cells for production of taxane diterpenes,and Ti-transformed Salvia miltiorrhiza cells for production of rosmarinic acid,lithospermic acid Band tanshinones.Finally,plant cell culture technology is discussed in its providing more benefit for our human being in the 21 century.
