Kinds of delineation devices and needs of road administrators in Japan

The delineation devices installed in Japan until recently used to be retro-reflective circular type delineators only. However, in recent years, various new types of delineation devices are being installed. Although an installation stadard has been established for retro-reflective circular type delineators, there is no such standard for the new types of delineation devices yet. This makes it difficult for road administrators to select installation methods for such new devices. he present investigation sets out to systematically identify the kinds of such new type of delineation devices and to assess the views of road administrators regarding their installation.
