A new process of near net shape continuous casting of metal pipe has been put out. The specialty of the process is that no inner core is used. The principle of the process has been presented, and the effect of several factors on the thickness of the pipe has been investigated experimentally and numerically. It is shown that the temperature and the level of the molten metal, cooling intensity of the mold, and the velocity of casting influenced the thickness of the pipe apparently. In order to improve evenness of the thickness of the pipe, the mold was dedicatedly designed, and special methods were taken. By this process, a metallic material like "bamboo" was fabricated.
