Framework design and implementation of web-based tutorials in spoken language engineering

Education in Spoken Language Engineering may be supported very effectively by web-based methods. The paper describes at first some problems which arise if web-based tutorials are to feature on-line speech input and interactive usage. A framework is defined which is aimed to handle these problems. The architecture and the interfaces are explained in more detail. Finally, we describe a tutorial on speech synthesis which was designed using this framework.
