The analysis of the obtained results prove the possibility to modify TEG both by the method of chemical modification in which metal is reduced from chemical compounds under certain conditions and the method of simultaneous modification and thermoexfoliation. The character of distribution of metal particles is determined by the type of metal. Chemical deposition of nickel results in homogeneous distribution of the metal on the surface of TEG particles in the form of fine particles of (10-50) nm in size. Modification with copper yields a non-uniform cover on the surface of TEG particles formed by thin copper film islets from 1 μm to 100 μm in size. The method of chemical modification allows to obtain modified TEG with preset concentration of modifier. The impurities of sulfur and chlorine are practically absent in the modified TEG. The method of simultaneous modification and thermoexfoliation also results in formation of TEG modified with metal. The concentration of modifier in this material is very small. Modifier is contained in the form of inhomogeneously distributed large (to 10 μm) particles. However, this method makes it possible to obtain modified TEG with very small bulk density and exfoliation coefficient larger than that in non-modified TEG.
