The growth of longer carbon nanotubes (CNT) is one of major challenges of CNT research. We recently reported the water vapor influence on the growth of longer CNT from ethylene-based feedstock [1]. It was shown that although water addition allows growth of centimeter-long aligned CNT, it is necessary to introduce extra growth activators, e.g. sulphur-containing compounds in order to enhance yield. It is known however that sulphur influence is controversial and requires additional research.
