A production cell concept for the manufacture of NM-B cables

Wire or cable products not requiring specific process or manufacturing technology are often identified with high volume and consumer products. Their added value is low and profits can be mode only through high volume production, optimum manufacturing methods as well as the constant search for cost reductions at every level of the production chain. Building wire products such as NM-B correspond perfectly to this definition. In this paper, SAMP is proposing a solution derived from the "Just in Time" (JIT) philosophy, which combines tandeminzed processes and the production cell.
