摘要

This paper describes the design and thermal performance assessment of a solar house with a building-integrated photovoltaic-thermal system (BIPV/T), passive solar design and a hollow core concrete for solar heat storage. The house was designed to achieve close to net-zero annual energy consumption. Several innovative solar technologies are adopted in this house to meet the design goal. Building integrated photovoltaic-thermal systems (BIPV/T) collects thermal energy from the heated solar photovoltaic panels and cools them down at the same time, thus also increasing their electricity production. Ventilated concrete slab stores part of the collected thermal energy in the heating season and is also used for night cooling with exterior cool air at nighttime in the cooling season. Large south facing windows together with passively charged and released concrete slab and walls are employed for passive solar spacing heating. An integrated supervisory control system is used to optimize the integrated performance of conventional mechanical system and solar energy systems. The house was completed in Dec. 2007 and preliminary results are presented.
