On the base of analyzing characteristics of flame structure of AP-LBR gas-generating agent, a simplified burning rate model Was proposed. According to the model, there were two burning zones on the burning surface, which were the burning zone of plastic matrix and the influencing zone of AP. When AP content in AP-LBR gas-generating agent accounted for not less than 66.0 wt %, the influencing zone of AP could cover whole burning surface. The effect of initial temperature of gas-generating agent on AP burning rate was strong and should be concerned when burning rate of gas-generating agent was calculated. The estimated burning rate temperature sensitivity of AP was 0.55%/K. By the simplified model, the burning rates of AP-LBR gas-generating agent were calculated. The calculated ones were close to the experimental ones.
