Sand suspension events and interittence of turbulence in the surf zone

The results of the joint field experiment Norderney-94 demonstrates the excellent coincide of fluctuations of suspended sand concentration and kinetic turbulent energy in the nearbottom region of hte surf zone.Turbulent fluctuations were separated from the wave induced flucturations as a part of the motins that are incoherent to the free surface elevationl.The time and spatial scales of macroturbuletn vortexes ahd been estimated and discussed.
