Nuclear Power Engineering Corporation(NUPEC) has been conducting a project of "Model Tests of Multi-axis Loading on RC Shear Walls" in order to clarify the nonlinear behavior of RC seismic shear walls under multi-directional seismic loads. In this paper, we introduce an outline of entire project, and the results of diagonal loading test. In order to comprehend the effect of loading angles on RC seismic shear walls, nonlinear FEM analysis was carried out, and the results obtained from test and analysis were compared. Using these results, nonlinear behavior of RC box type seismic shear walls under the diagonal loads was investigated.
