Regulations of ship classification societies require validation test of propulsion system mechanical stress dynamics created by an irregularity of diesel engine running. It turns out that a ship propulsion control influences such stresstransients. Simulation calculations present considerable difference between ship propulsion system dynamics model with, and without engine control loop. Any standard ship propulsion system design does not include engine control loop in calculations ofmechanical stresses. An appropriate architecture and parameters of the engine control loop allows to improve ship propulsion system dynamics characteristics.
