摘要

A semianalytical finite element method was employed for analysis of railroad car wheels. The accuracy of the computational model was estimated by comparing the numerical results with analytical solutions for a simplified wheel model and with tensometric bata. Innovative wheel designs were developed and subjected to full-scale tests. The wheels were rolled following computer-assisted engineering of the new designs. Their advantages over conventional wheels were validated by operational tests.
