摘要

Reduced glutathione(GSH) exists as tripeptide naturally. It is very important in various aspects, i.g. as a cellular reductant, as a catalyst in a number of reactions, as a reactant in various phases of metabolism, and in the protection of cells against free radicals, reactive oxygen species, and toxic compounds. It has been recommended for patients with hepatic cirrhosis as well as for treatment of alcoholica and certain skin diseases. Some methods such as HPLC, redox titration and spectrophotometry were used for glutathione determination. In this paper, the colour reaction of glutathione with copper(II)-neocuproine-alcohol has been investigated. Copper(II) and neocuprione form the complex [Cu(neocuproine)_2]~(2+).
