In this research, an investigation on the spray behavior of intermittent diesel sprays has been experimentally carried out using a fuel injection system, which has a capability for a commercial vehicle diesel engine. Using 2-D PDPA system, the authors especially focused on the characteristics of spray trajectory such as the distributions of mean velocities, turbulent intensities in the spray flow fields injected into quiescent ambient air. Especially, for the research work, only a single-hole of a multi 5 hole with an axi-symmetry that has no inclination respect to the nozzle exis has been considered. A fuel cap or an adaptor was attached to separate the fuel quantities injected from the surrounding 4-holes which is oriented at an angle of 90 degree to the central axis of the nozzle. The results showed that the values of turbulent intensity tend to decrease with an increase to the spray outer regions.
