Radical polymerization with a new thermal iniferter 1-hydroxy-2-(p-tolylaminocarbonyloxy)-1,1,2,2-tetraphenylethane

"Living" radical polymerization can be carried out with an iniferter using the same mild reaction conditions as in general radical polymerization, though the polydispersity of molecular weight is poorly controlled. So far, several important types of iniferters can initiate "living" radical polymerization, such as thiuram disulfides, dithiocarbamates, and tetraphenylethane drivaties.
