This paper summarizes the results of a 13-year investigation/remediation at a ceramic capacitors manufacturing facility (the site) in Los Angeles, California. The paper demonstrates that natural attenuation mechanisms have been responsible for ocntainment and remediation of a methylene chloride plume in ground water and these mechanisms will be in effect even if the ground water remediation system is shut down. On this basis, the lead regulatory agency has granted closure.
