A Digital Library: the Manuscripts of the Historic Library of Santa Cruz

摘要

There are a lot of proyects which tend to allow the access to the cultural heritage in a easier way. This work shows the building process of a digital library of manuscripts from the paper catalogue to the digital version of it. In this case, the documents are in XML format and we have developed the index and search system to deal with them. The problems found and the solutions applied are presented. Also, we shows the way that techniques from String Matching, as the approximate string matching, can be used in this case to improve the results of the queries.
