Three pilot scale biopiles and a landfarm to treat diesel contaminated sandy loam soil were constructed, operated and monitored for 113 days. The effects of vermiculite addition, increased bulking agent addition and tillage compared to forced aeration on contaminant reduction were examined. Samples were taken twice a week.
