Case studies on th anatomy, textures and magmatic-hydrothermal evolution of ore-bearing granitic systems have been carried out in rare-metal provinces of Eurasia that are related to collisional orogens. The relations between crustal structure, geodynamic position in the orogenic cycle, and role of fluids during granite fractionation have been revealed as the fundamental parameters to form granite-related ore deposits. Fluid saturation textures are discussed as significant tracers for the ore-potential of mineralized granitic systems. To compare the geotectonic, petrogenetic and metallogenic characteristics of rare-metal granite provinces a complex of correlation criteria has been developped.
