Ukrainian-made Airborne Complex for Remote Sensing of environment (ACRS-28) and its informational capabilities are considered and discussed in present paper. This complex is comprised of the following remote sensing facilities: Ka-band Side-Looking Airborne Radar (SLAR), L-band Synthesised Aperture Radar (SAR), trace UHF locator, scanning IR-radiometer "Malachite-1", trace multichannel opto-acoustic spectrometer "Kvartz-3102", γ-radiometer and a video camera. The entire system is designed to be installed onboard the An-28 aircraft. The performance characteristics of ACRS-28 allow solving a wide range of practical and science-oriented tasks, but the main destination of ACRS-28 is monitoring of natural and technogenic catastrophes as well as all kinds of critical situations. The ACRS-28 differs favourably from other airborne remote sensing systems with the optimal combination of inexpensive but efficient set of airborne radar, optical and IR remote sensing facilities. Flight characteristics of aircraft-carrier as well as technical characteristics of installed sensors and some results of its application are discussed.
