In China, a great deal of CH_4 is emitted from coal mining every year. It is necesary to develop and use them. In-mine drainage of CMM has a quite long history. CMM is drained in mines from the working seams, adjacent seams, gob areas and surrounding rocks. Almost all China's CMM was used directly in mining areas without purification and most of it is supplied for civil use. Now, there has been a gas storage system with total capacity of 0.68 Mm~3 and pipelines of 655.6 km that supplies gas for 0.25 million households. Meanwhile, there is a small amount of CMM supplied for industrial use. A little of CMM is used for chemical production, power generation, kilns and industrial boilers. However, the CMM use has not reached the limit and there are great potential for CMM use.
