In this paper, the problem of objective evaluation of trainee performance from simulators, and subsequent prediction of the trainee competency, is solved in two ways: (i) using linear factor structure and linear factor dynamics, in case of bigsample of trainees and simulator tests, and (ii) using nonlinear Hopfield-overlaps based structure and nonlinear overlap dynamics, in case of small sample of trainees and simulator tests.
