A measuring instrument for high-resolution dynamic angle measurements is presented, which combines a ring laser with an incremental angle encoder in the rate-bias operating mode. In an unlimited measuring range, the measuring system achieves an angular resolution of 0,08" at a frequency of the measured value readout of maximally 4 kHz. The standard uncertainty essentially depends on the length of the measuring time t_m. At a calibration time of 2 min, for example, it amounts to u ≈ 0,2″ + 0,2 12L?t_m / min.
