Blind Symbol Detection of Coded Seuences

摘要

In this paper we presetn a method to jointly perform decoding and blind estimation of symbols transmitted over an unknown channel with inter-symbol interference. The methd takes advantage of the structure of convolutional code to perform symbol estimation without estimating channel characteristics. This makes it particularly useful for time-varying channels. COmputer simulations are shown which compare our method to Viterbi decoding.
