Need for and Economic Viability of Small-Size Lng Projects: A Proposal for Lng Suppliers La Necessite Et La Viabilite Economique Des Projets Du Gnl De Petite Taille: Une Proposition Pour Les Fournisseurs Du Gnl

摘要

The LNG industry seems to believe in the myth that LNG projects need to be gigantic in size in order to be economically viable. Against this myth, however, an LNG project does not have to be gigantic in size in order to be economically viable. Nor does the LNG price of a small-size project need to be higher than its large-size counterparts in order to secure its economics. This paper suggests how small-size LNG projects can be made economically viable by challenging the economy of scale.
