Internal flow boiling heat transfer enhanced in vertical tubes with longitudinal microchannels

摘要

A tube with longitudinal microchannels on inside wall has been develoepd to enhance flow boiling heat transfer. The experimental investigation was conducted to identify the flow boiling heat transfer performance for water flowing through the microchanneled tube. The flow boiling heat transfer in the enhanced tube is greatly intensified for the fully developed nucleate boiling regime. The heat transfer coefficient in microchanneled tube is increased with a magnitude of 270percent compared with the traditionary smooth tube. The heat transfer performance of the microchanneled tube is as good as or even better than that of other existing enhanced tubes.
