Many enhanced surfaces iwth complex geometries play both as extended surfaces and disturbance devices for the enhancement of heat transfer. Fluid flow and heat transfer in a passage with an extended surface with uniform cross section are investigated numerically ad the macroscopic mean characteristics of the friction and heat transfer are presented in volume-averaged forms. Tis study is a trial for modelling flow and heat transfer in microstructure of complex geometries as porous media.
