A new look at an old friend: reassessing remaining reserves of the Maui C Sands reservoir through reprocessed seismic and detailed reservoir modelling

In order to assess the remaining hydrocarbon volumes within the Maui gas field Shell Todd Oil Services (STOS) have performed a complete re-evaluation of the Maui C Sands reservoir. Reprocessed seismic data has provided a clearer image of the structure and improved depth conversion, seismic inversion has provided an insight into the type and distribution of pore-fill and reservoir properties, and detailed static and dynamic reservoir modelling has been utilised to assess the remaining volumes associated with this giant reservoir.
