Powered shovel (excavator) is widely accepted as one of the typical and most popular construction machines. Btilldozer has been chased out from the champion's seat of construction machines by the powered shovel in recent three decades because of the useful availability for various kinds of three dimensional operations in addition to the precise, easy, enjoyable handling including the safety. For more applications to cover the complicated works, various unique and specific attachments are developed and prepared to be mounted instead of shovel (attachment). However they have to be removed (dismounted) and mounted alternatively if necessary depending on the characteristic or specific works. Especially the combined works consisting of serial operations needs the frequent exchange of attachments to meet the works required. Depending on the works, the repetition of mounting and dismounting of the attachments from one to the other lowers the availability and operation efficiency of the machine utilization. In this paper the basic, but unique design concept of powered shovel equipped with multi-tool (attachments) is introduced and proposed, which makes the prompt exchange of the attachment possible without dismounting the one attachment and mounting the other. It improves the machine operation much. The proposed machine has two attachments at the both ends of the arm which can be rotated about the axis at middle point of the arm to select either one of the attachments when needed. In the presentation the motion of the proposed powered shovel under operation is simulated and displayed by use of plastic model of machine and video equipment respectively.
