The Societal Fairness of Intergenerational Equity

摘要

The issue of intergenerational equity has become an important consideration in assessing the standards to be applied to high level radioactive waste disposal and the level of clean up associated with contaminated Department of Energy facilities throughout the United States. The National Academy of Public Administration was asked to convene a special panel to examine these very important issues for the Department of Energy. The panel included members from the environmental, engineering, regulatory, academic, scientific, native American and humanist communities. The panel reached consensus on an objective and implementing principles regarding how to decide for the future.
