The Design of A C/S Oriented Firewal

Since the network security field is rapidly growing, new techniques and terms are continually being brought into use. In today's modern networks, such as the Internet, an approach can be used to protect our valuable network resources against the hazard that results in loss of vital information. The devices that prevent our entwork and resources from this "fire" on the outer "walls" of our network are called firewalls. This paper firstly narrates the conception and the two types of the firewalls including packet filtering and proxy service, and the definitions of packet filtering and proxy service. Secondly, according to the characteristics of database, this paper digs for a total solution on the database by adopting the firewall technology in the Client/Server mode. Here we take the proxy server as the firewall which filters the flows on the application layer. Finally, we implement the special firewall on the database in descriptive language.
