IRN-77 (high acid organic ion-exchanger), AW-300 (zeolite), SL-603 and SL-613 (crown compound ion-exchanger) were examined in aspects of radiolytic and thermal degradations on cesium (Cs) and strontium (Sr) adsorptions. The objectives of the present study are to make data base for design of ion-exchange column in the cooling water clarification system of a nuclear spent-fuel storage facility and to select the effective ion-exchanger through comparison and evaluation of adsorption characteristics among varios ion-exchangers. The effects of irradiation dose and temperature on the ion-exchange capability of each ion-exchanger were observed and the ion-exchange rate and ion selectivity of each ion-exchanger in a multi-components cooling water system composed of Li~+, Cs~+, and Sr~(+2) were also measured.
