Thermal Modeling as a Tool for Optimization and Control of Casting Processes

摘要

This article reviews the state of thermal modeling. Special attention is given to the evaluation of boundary conditions. Describing the physical principles is the appropriate way for off-line applications which are presented for caster optimization and crack analysis. Boundary conditions based on empirical equations are used for on-line applications. Examples are given of quality control and on-line spray water control which will be the future of model application.
