Prepared discussion of: Double Flow Hydrogen Ion Exchanger with Weak Acidic Cation Resin

摘要

Weak acid cation ion exchange is recognized as an economical method of reducing carbonate hardness from clean water supplies. The double flow exchanger design further improves the economics, but adds a lot of complexity to the design and operation of an installation. The applicability of the process depends on the water characteristics and must be evaluated against other treatment methods, such as lime softening, to assure selection of the optimum treatment process.
