Economics of Water Pretreatment/ Demineralizer Upgrade at the City of Lakeland, Florida's Mclntosh Power Plant

To reduce operating costs and increase reliability, the City of Lakeland has undertaken major modifications to their C. D. Mclntosh Plant demineralized water makeup treatment system. This paper presents the evaluation process, the economics justifying this project, and experience to date.
