The efforts of eastman kodak company to produce a direct digital output silver halide color paper

Eastman Kodak Company has been interested in direct digital exposure onto solver halide media for many years. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, papers were publised and talks given on a device designed in the Research laboratories that made exposures onto silver halide color paper by means of three lasers. As other digital writers have been available, either commerically or experimentally, Kodak has continued to evaluate the interaction between silver halide media and these direct wiriters. This investigation suggested opportunities for creating a media specifically for digital exposing, which would offer performance improvements in this mode over that of the traditional photographic media.
